Decorating a small flat in Hackney

Looking on the bright side, the benefit of having a small space to decorate is you can splash out on materials as you won’t need as much to cover the space – wallpaper, paint, tiling, flooring will all cost a little less. Here is a little project we took on with a very low budget.

We started with a shade of white we liked that was applied throughout. Walls, ceilings, frames – everything. Then we chose just one wall for a paint colour – the kitchen wall usually works best. Finally, we adding a splash of interest with super cool wallpaper and tiles on certain walls. Don’t go over the top here – no need for something in every room. The joy of the wallpaper is that it is a suprise. If you have it in every room, it’s just predictable!

We did spend a good amount of time finding the right paper and feature tile but it’s well worth it.

I absolutely love the way the bathroom looks now. I’m in to Grey in a big way at the moment – I find it calming and subtle in its beauty. I hope the photos are useful!
