Utility Room Decor

I’m sharing some photos of my utlity room (laundry room for US readers) here. I converted the old kitchen into a downstairs toilet and large utility space. Since I use the utility space so much, I wanted it to be nice.

I’ve used a lot of Ikea products but enhanced it with a few embellishments to make it special. The cupboard here was the old chimney, which was hollowed out to fit shelves and I put in some bespoke cupboard doors to fit. Not particularly costly for the doors as you can buy those online. The colour is magnificent but sadly not available any more but I’ve listed it below for interest

  • Wallpaper – Birds and Roses, Cath Kidston
  • Doors – bespoke in Habitat matt emulsion, Cumin
  • Tongue and Groove wall panels can be bought from any DIY store, B&Q does them
  • The skirting and door trims are also from B&Q
  • The panels are painted in Habit matt emulsion, mushroom
  • The baskets, pictures and pendants (there are 3 in a row) are all from IKEA
  • I bought the ribbons for the baskets from my local cloth shop
  • Flooring is hardwood

This is a hard working wall cabinet. I chose a good size butler sink from IKEA

Hope you’ve enjoyed the pictures!
